In the heart of Ostuni, amid quiet alleyways and walls steeped in history, stands Palazzo Melogna, a historic noble residence that tells the story and vision of Francesca and her family.

When Francesca – the current owner and driving force behind the palazzo, together with the Onirico Design team – and her family first stepped inside, they immediately sensed the authentic value of the place: a beauty suspended in time, the traces left by past inhabitants, and the strength of its roots. From that moment arose the desire to breathe new life into a space that deserved to tell its story once more, with respect and love for the region.

The restoration project was a careful exercise in conservation and enhancement of the architectural heritage, a constant dialogue between past and present, where every stone, arch, and vault was restored to reveal the palazzo’s original spirit.

The result is a space where tradition meets contemporary design, where every detail preserves Ostuni’s history and the understated elegance of its charm.

Today, Palazzo Melogna has become a venue for high-level hospitality, seamlessly combining the allure of a historic residence with the comfort of an intimate, refined experience.

The name itself, “Melogna”, comes from the Ostuni regional language and refers to the European badger, an animal that once roamed the outskirts and woodlands around the White City – areas that today form central Ostuni. The badger symbolises deep roots, resilience, and a connection to nature, here interpreted as an authentic bond with the territory. These values are also reflected in the brand’s logo and in the philosophy that permeates every corner of the palazzo.

This is a project born of love for Puglia, a desire to celebrate its authentic essence and share it with guests through a genuine, carefully curated hospitality experience deeply rooted in the local culture.
